02 / About me

Nice to
meet you!

My path to painting began with a need to tell stories.

I graduated from the University of Arts in Poznań in Animation, earning a Master of Arts degree. For many years I created original animated films and worked as an illustrator and motion designer. My animations were presented at international festivals, and the experience I gained while working with image, movement and narrative remains an important part of my artistic language.

Even then, I was fascinated by geometric forms, composition and the possibility of telling stories about people through images. I was also interested in social issues and relationships between people. Over time, I began to feel a stronger need to hold a single moment still — instead of telling a story through consecutive frames, I wanted to contain it in one painting.

Today I create figurative paintings in which I combine the human figure with geometric divisions of space. I am especially interested in relationships, closeness and tenderness. A recurring motif in my paintings is an embrace — a simple gesture that can speak about safety, love, longing or the need to be close to another person.

Geometry is more than form for me. It is a way of seeing. It allows me to change perspective, divide space and show the same relationship from different points of view. That is why some of my paintings form series — they depict the same pair or situation, but in another moment, from another perspective and with a different emotional weight.
